Frosted Flakes

The name Frosted Flakes covers several genetically distinct lines that share little beyond a dense resin coating. The most thoroughly documented is the cross of Miracle Alien Cookies and NH3 from Taylormade Selections, also listed as MAC NH3. Separate versions come from Secret Society Seed Co, Ziplock Seeds and Crop King Seeds, alongside a cut circulating in Canada from MTL Cannabis.

Genetics and Origin:

Behind Taylormade Selections' NH3 stand Above and Beyond and a cross of Exotic Fighter and Napalm Strike; Miracle Alien Cookies contributes lineage from Girl Scout Cookies and Aliendawg. For its strain of the same name, Secret Society Seed Co crossed Dosidos with Tony Clifton and classifies the result as predominantly indica.

Ziplock Seeds, on the other hand, lists Frosted Flakes as a cross of Cereal Milk and White Truffle and has used it as a parent itself: in Night Sky it meets Gary Eyes. Crop King Seeds names Pre-98 and White Bubba as parents; this line is given as 70 % indica and 30 % sativa. The Canadian cut from MTL Cannabis traces back to Cereal Milk and MAC 1, and for a flower marketed in the US in 2025 a lineage of Afghan Kush and Oreoz was stated.

Aroma and Flavor:

The descriptions follow the genetic variation. For the MAC NH3 line, pear, apricot and apple are named over an earthy, floral base. In the sweet cereal versions, vanilla, cream and citrus stand out: a tasting of a batch tested in 2025 first described a lemony cereal note, followed by a creamy aftertaste, with citrus over milky sweetness in the flavor. For medical flowers of this strain, spicy, vanilla-like and earthy notes are given.

Effects:

Users mostly report a physically carried relaxation, introduced by a brief euphoric phase; elevated mood, talkativeness and creative impulses are mentioned, without complete immobility. A 2025 tasting gives the duration as 45 to 50 minutes. Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, increased appetite, dizziness and feelings of anxiety.

THC and CBD Content:

Crop King Seeds states 19 % THC and a low CBD content for its feminized version. Other strain descriptions cite 24 % THC and around 1 % CBG for the MAC NH3 line, and 0.57 to 0.92 % CBD for the Pre-98 line. The figure for the Canadian cut is notably higher, at 27 to 33 % THC. For medical flowers of this strain approved for sale in Germany, 30 % THC and 1 % CBD are declared.

Lab Results:

An analysis published in 2024 for a batch of the MAC NH3 line shows 23.086 % THCA, 0.285 % delta-9-THC and 0.059 % CBG. Total terpene content stood at 2.909 %, led by beta-caryophyllene ahead of alpha-humulene and beta-myrcene. A batch from the US tested in 2025 reached 33.81 % THC, with limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene dominating there. No lab name was published in either case; the figures vary considerably by line, cultivation and batch.

Cultivation:

Flowering times across the versions range from 45 to 62 days: Crop King Seeds gives 45 to 50 days, Secret Society Seed Co about 56 days, Taylormade Selections about 62 days. Other strain descriptions put it at 53 to 63 days and give mid-October as the outdoor harvest time. Sources disagree noticeably on height and yield: Crop King Seeds describes medium-height plants of 152 to 244 cm and less than 150 g/m², while other descriptions cite bushy plants under 76 cm and around 170 g per plant outdoors. Sources agree that the strain is undemanding, responds well to SCROG and resists mold, mildew and pests; a warm, rather humid climate is described as favorable.

Community Experiences:

Descriptions of the smoke are consistent, described as smooth and without a skunky sharpness, as is the calming base effect. Assessments of potency diverge: some reports find the effect too short, others describe a fast-acting, heavy high. Aroma descriptions range from candy and honey through pine to a sour, bitter edge. Grow reports mention dense, roundish buds with a noticeable trichome coating, and pale green buds with purple flecks in the Canadian cut.
